Telkom berikan hadiah di bidang ICT untuk pendidikan

Perkembangan gadget merupakan salah satu pemicu internet user tinggi di indonesia dan mahasiswa merupakan salah satu pasar terbesarnya. Internet akses disekolah dan kampus hanya 1--3% dan ini merupakan peluang bagi Telkom untuk masuk dan memberikan layanan di bidang pendidikan.
"ICT merupakan sumber ilmu pengetahuan dan referensi, dan manusia lebih berpeluang untuk naik ke kondisi yang lebih baik," kata Yusron Hariyadi EGM Divisi Business Service Telkom Indonesia.
Lima hal penting yang bisa ICT berikan untuk dunia pendidikan adalah:
- komponen yang terintegrasi kurikulum dan metode mengajar
- mengembangkan gaya belajar mahasiswa
- mempermudah kegiatan operasional kampus
- penyelengara pendidikan dapat melakukan pantauan untuk kampusnya
- institusi yang menerapkan ICT diharapkan menjadi "mercusuar" yang mampu menyinari dunia
Sejak TeSCA pertama kali dilaksanakan pada tahun 2008, perguruan tinggi yang ikut serta terus bertambah dari 75 di tahun 2008 menjadi 553 perguruan tinggi pada tahun 2013. Diharapkan pada tahun 2014 ini semakin banyak perguruan tinggi yang mau berpartisipasi di TeSCA.
PT Telkom Indonesia saat ini banyak menghadirkan aplikasi dan program yang membantu perkembangan dunia pendidikan di Indonesia, di antaranya adalah:
- E-academic: layanan tanpa investasi di aplikasi
- QJournal: penyediaan jurnal dan sarana mempublikasikan hasil riset
- QBaca: digital book
- Umeetme: video conference dengan mudah dan murah
Hal ini pun didukung dengan infrastruktur yang memadai dari institusi, dan diharapkan setiap institusi mau berinvenstasi pada infrastrukturnya masing-masing sebagai penunjang kegiatan operasional dan pengajaran di lingkungan pendidikan.
